Doors exposed to full sunlight are at risk of shrinkage and therefore require particular attention.

Within two weeks of delivery, the doors MUST receive a minimum of TWO coats of paint, varnish or sealer to prevent the undue absorption of moisture. Doors must be ENTIRELY coated including the top, bottom and both side edges. Do not use water based finishes or stains without paint manufacturer’s consultation.

The utility or structural strength must not be impaired in the fitting of the door, the application of the hardware, or cutting and altering of the door for lights, louvers, panels or any special details.

Doors and door systems including pivot systems that are installed in a fully exposed situation including opening out doors will not be warranted unless there is adequate overhead protection.

Immediately after fitting and prior to hanging, the entire door, including the top and bottom edges must receive two coats of undercoat and two coats of paint. This included doors that are supplied raw or factory primed. If staining, exterior grade varnish or sealer must be used and its application to be equivalent to paint finish to prevent the absorption of moisture.
